David Gray (nato il 13 giugno 1968) è un cantautore inglese. Gray incise il suo primo album nel 1993 e ricevette attenzione mondiale dopo la pubblicazione di “White Ladder” sei anni dopo. Quello fu il primo dei tre successi nella classifica inglese in sei anni per Gray, gli ultimi due dei quali arrivarono tra i primi 17 anche negli Stati Uniti. Ha ricevuto 4 nomination ai Brit Awards – due volte per miglior artista maschile. E’ stato uno dei membri della band “Venus in Furs”, formata nel 1998 per il film “Velvet Goldmine” (La band prese il nome dall’omonimo brano dei Velvet Underground). Il gruppo includeva anche Thom Yorke e Jonny Greenwood dei Radiohead, Andy Mackay dei Roxy Music e Bernard Bulter degli Suede

David Gray (born 13 June 1968) is an English singer-songwriter. Gray released his first studio album in 1993 and received worldwide attention after the release of “White Ladder” six years later. It was the first of three UK Chart-toppers in six years for Gray, the latter two of which also made the Top 17 in the US. He has been nominated for four Brit Awards – twice for Best British Male. He was one of the members of the band “Venus in Furs”, formed in 1998 for the film “Velvet Goldmine” (The band was named after the Velvet Underground song “Venus in Furs”).  The band also included Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Andy Mackay of Roxy Music and Bernard Butler of Suede.
