In seguito il brano è tornato nella Top 20 del Regno Unito nel 1991, raggiungendo il picco al numero 13, quattordici anni dopo la morte di Bolan, quando è stato utilizzato in uno spot diretto da Chris Hartwill per Levi’s con protagonista Brad Pitt.
Questo duetto è stato realizzato ai BRIT AWARDS nel 1999. I Placebo avevano già pubblicato una cover di questa canzone che era stata inserita nella colonna sonora del film “Velvet Goldmine”

The song was not featured on an original studio album but was included as a bonus track on a reissue of 1973 album Tanx. It later returned to the UK Top 20 in 1991, peaking at No. 13, fourteen years after Bolan’s death, when it was used in a Chris Hartwill-directed commercial for Levi’s starring Brad Pitt. This duet was made at BRIT AWARDS in 1999. The placebo had already published a cover of this song which was featured in the soundtrack of film “Velvet Goldmine”
Il 28 agosto 2015, gli Yo La Tengo hanno pubblicato “Stuff Like That There”, tramite l’etichetta Matador Records. L’album segna non solo il ritorno del marchio YLT a rielaborazioni indie rock, ma anche una reunion con il membro originale Dave Schramm. Questa è la versione di “Friday I am in love” dei Cure. L’ interpretazione del branao da parte di YLT si concentra in gran parte su corde di chitarra delicate e una batteria stabile che non invade mai le note più leggere della cantante Georgia Hubley.
On August 28th 2015, Yo La Tengo released “Stuff Like That There”, via Matador Records. The album marks not only the return of YLT’s brand of indie rock re-workings, but also a reunion with original member Dave Schramm. This is the version of “Friday I’m in Love” by The Cure. YLT’s rendition of the classic track is focused largely on gentle guitar strums and a steady, spares drum that never encroaches on the lighter notes of singer Georgia Hubley.
“Sorrow” is a song first recorded by the McCoys in 1965 and released as the B-side to their cover of “Fever“. It became a big hit in the United Kingdom in a version by the Merseys, reaching number 4 on the UK chart on 28 April 1966. È stato girato ad Agbogbloshie ad Accra, in Ghana, il sito di una delle più grandi discariche di rifiuti elettronici del mondo.
