Nel 2002, ad un anno dalla scomparsa dell’ex-Beatle, ad accompagnare Lynne nell’interpretazione del brano furono invece McCartney ed Eric Clapton, che era buon amico di George Harrison,  e che suonò l’assolo di chitarra nella versione ufficiale su disco. I Beatles  ri-registrarono il brano più di una volta, anche con nastri di chitarra al contrario, ma il progetto fallì. Deluso, ma non arreso, Harrison invitò Eric Clapton a passare la giornata in studio con lui e nonostante i dubbi di quest’ultimo, perché nessuno aveva mai suonato prima in una canzone dei Beatles, alla fine accettò. L’inclusione di Clapton fu un sollievo per la band che attraversava un momento di tensione.

In 2002, a year after the death of the ex-Beatle, to accompany Lynne interpretation of the song were McCartney and Eric Clapton, who was a good friend of George Harrison, and played the guitar solo in the official version on disk . The Beatles recorded the song more than once, even with ribbons backwards guitar, but the project failed. Disappointed, but not surrendered, Harrison invited Eric Clapton  to spend the day in the studio with him and despite the doubts of the latter, because no one had ever played before in a Beatles song, he finally agreed. The inclusion of Clapton was a relief for the band that ran through a tense moment.
